The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth
The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is dedicated to post-World War II art. More than 2,600 works make it definitely worth a visit.
When I first saw the museum, it looked like a
strange factory with a gray wall in the front. However, if you walk around it, you
will perceive that there is something valuable inside "the factory" and it is modern art work.
In 2002 the museum opened a new beautiful building designed by the world-renowned architect
Tadao Ando
(Tadao
Ando Pritzker Prize). The combination of the water view and transparent glass with grid metal frame made me
feel a little deja vu when I walked into the museum. I realized afterwards that the architect are the same as
Suntory Museum of
Art that I visited several times before in Osaka . The differences are that this museum are wider and the water view is artificial. In Japan, Suntory Museum
of Art was taller and was facing the ocean. Furthermore, this museum has unique Y-shaped columns.
I also took pictures when I was in Japan.
